MINI Takes The States commences this weekend in Miami and then heads off to Boston for the next leg on June 20-22. En-route, they will be passing through Savannah on Monday June 16th and spending a few hours here between their overnight stops in St. Augustine, FL and Charleston, SC. We will be gathering all the MINIS heading north in the Savannah Visitors Center parking lot at 310 Martin Luther King Bvd. We anticipate their arrival to be approximately 1 - 1:30pm on Monday 16th. and we would love to show them as much Savannah hospitality as is possible. They are scheduled to arrive in Charleston for an event that evening at Patriot’s Point Park in Mt. Pleasant, SC hosted by MINI of Charleston who will be providing a BBQ dinner. If you would like to attend that event please RSVP here.
Traveling with the entourage will be "The Flying Finn"Rauno Aaltonen, winner of the European Rally Championship and Gallaher 500 in a MINI Cooper S. His other merits include winning the RAC Rally in 1965, the Monte Carlo Rally in 1967 and the Southern Cross Rally in 1977. Aaltonen finished second on six occasions in the Safari Rally, which is considered one of the most difficult courses in rally racing.

Hiya! This is lilruffcat... It was so exciting to walk in the hotel and see some friendly faces. The run from St. Augustine to Savannah was mad crazy, the M2C2 bunch for the most part got seperated. =( Thank you for coming to St. Augustine to meet us.. I am looking forward to motoring down for ice cream and base ball!!! I am hoping to hear from Stephanie or Martha about that run!!! Again thanks for coming down, as always it is a pleasure to see you guys!

Martha and Larry,Stephanie and Lem had a very nice trip to St. Augustine. We met up with some Mini's from M2C2 that we knew from the Helen trip. It was nice to see them again and they expressed interest in the baseball/icecream run in August...
